Butler County Senior Center hosts open house

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – The Butler County Senior Center and the Barren River Area Development District held an open house on Thursday to introduce local seniors to some of the resources in the area they could use for assistance.

Eighteen different groups and companies gathered at the Senior Center to inform Butler County residents of the assistance they can offer.

From at-home insurance care, citizens were able to learn what they could use that best suits their current needs.

The open house not only helped show members of the community the opportunities available to them, but also raised awareness about the Barren County Senior Center, which is something not many in the area were aware of.

“A lot of people don’t even know we’re here, and we have lots of seniors that we know need assistance,” said Butler County Senior Center manager Katie Johnson when asked about how important the event was today. “And our goal is to try and offer assistance to seniors in our area.”
