The Public Theatre of Kentucky seeking donations by Oct. 20 to replace lights

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Public Theatre of Kentucky needs your help.

It’s not easy for the show to go on when the lights go out – but that’s exactly what PTK says it has been trying to do. The theatre says its equipment, which has been used for more than 20 years, is nearing its end.

The result? Delayed, interrupted and even canceled shows.

The theatre has seen a generous donation from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels in the form of an $8,000 grant.

However, they say they can only purchase new lighting and sound equipment if they raise enough to match the $8,000 gift by Oct. 20.

The theatre serves many purposes, from providing education programs, to theatre therapy for students with autism, school day and sensory-friendly performances, summer arts day camps and more.
