Knicely Conference Center hosts Aging and Mental Health Conference

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Mental Health is incredibly important and as we age, it can be difficult to make sure to take care of yourself and others.

On Tuesday at the Knicely Conference Center, people gathered to hear from speakers and meet resources who can offer help and advise to those who might need help or are helping to take care of others. Topics ranged from ways to help elderly or homeless vets and resources they have available to them to the unspoken dangers of elderly suicide, among other important topics.

These topics, however, are impactful to everyone as everyone will experience aging one way or another.

“We are all either growing up or growing old. We’re all going to be experiencing, aging, as we grow up and grow old. So mental health is important to everyone. Aging is an important topic that’s going to affect all of us and our families. And so when we can talk about and really learn some information and, and, when you know better, you do better. But we can figure out ways that we can help support each other as family members, as community members, as neighbors. And that’s really what it’s all about,” said Karen Foley, executive director of Hotel Inc.
