MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – Friends of Mammoth Cave National Park, a local nonprofit, is asking for your help and support for a place you may know well.

The nonprofit is asking for donations to help keep Mammoth Cave National Park open, at least with one tour and the visitor center running.

“We all love Mammoth Cave — the tours, the stories, the cool air the second you step inside… it’s part of who we are here in Kentucky. But right now, we need your help to make sure the cave lights stay on and the doors stay open,” the nonprofit stated on social media on Tuesday.

The nonprofit says it is committed to help fund “at least two days” but wants to help with even more.

Whether it’s the cost of your morning coffee or a weekend meal, the nonprofit is asking the community to lend a hand to keep Mammoth Cave alive and accessible.
