KSP reports increase in collisions on I-65 near Hart County

HART COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police says it is working multiple collisions on Interstate 65 near Hart County Tuesday.
KSP Post 3 public affairs officer trooper Katan Parker says the agency is working eight collisions this afternoon, with six of those having no reported injuries.
Parker says two of the collisions reported minor injuries.
Parker confirmed authorities are seeing an increase in wrecks in that area.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 4 says the left and center lanes are blocked just south of Munfordville near the 60-mile marker due to the collision. Traffic is backed up to exit 65 at Munfordville.
It is not known how much time it will take for the scene to clear. Drivers are encouraged to stop for traffic ahead, as heavy rain can cause braking efficiency to be reduced.
The northbound inside lane is also blocked, but significant backup is not taking place northbound at this time, officials say.
News 40 will provide additional details as they are released.
