Bowling Green man charged with trafficking fentanyl

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department observed a vehicle traveling on Stubbins Street Thursday just after 10:45 p.m. with no headlamps.
Authorities say they conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as 33-year-old Delsjuan Dewalt of Bowling Green.
Dewalt stated he had a warrant, police say.
Officers say they had Dewalt exit the vehicle and placed him into custody.
Authorities say they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and two passengers were asked to exit the vehicle.
While searching Dewalt, police say they located marijuana in his pocket. In addition, police say a vehicle search led to the discovery of a green leafy substance, a glass pipe and a loaded handgun.
Authorities say Dewalt stated the gun and marijuana were his.
Dewalt was arrested and lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.
He is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess. In addition, an indictment warrant was executed, charging Dewalt with trafficking in a controlled substance (fentanyl), first offense.
