Franklin man arrested after barricade incident

FRANKILIN, Ky. – A Franklin man is facing multiple charges following a barricade incident Monday night.

According to a release by the Franklin Police Department, officers responded to the 400 block of East Cedar Street around 7:38 p.m. for a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival, police say 43-year-old Jonathan Postins of Franklin pointed a gun at them and “barricaded himself in the residence.”

Authorities say they attempted to negotiate with Postins several times, but these attempts were unsuccessful.

After obtaining an arrest and search warrant, authorities say, Postins was taken into custody at 12:15 p.m.

Police say drugs and multiple guns were seized from the home during the arrest.

Postins is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine).

The Franklin Police Department was assisted by the Kentucky State Police and Simpson County Sheriff’s Office.
