A Caneyville firefighter then reached inside the vehicle “and put the car into park and shut the vehicle off,” authorities say.

The firefighter woke the driver, who became “combative and ended up biting one of the fireman’s fingers,” breaking through the skin.

The fireman was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene, Neal had “bloodshot eyes and appeared disoriented,” the citation states.

Neal was arrested and charged with third-degree assault (EMS, fire, rescue squad), DUI and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
