South-Central Kentucky Drug Task Force destroys marijuana in Simpson County

SIMPSON COUNTY, Ky. – The South-Central Kentucky Drug Task Force is confirming it has destroyed $32,000 worth of marijuana plants found in Simpson County.
According to a release, agents responded to Minnicks Johnson Road the Prices Mill community in Simpson County Friday following a complaint regarding possible marijuana cultivation.
Authorities say they initiated an investigation, leading to the discovery of hidden plots with 16 total marijuana plants.
Upon arrival, task force agents say they deployed a drone to conduct an aerial survey to locate the plants.
The plants were then seized, cut and destroyed in accordance with standard procedure, authorities say.
The drug task force estimates the street value of the plants to be $32,000.
The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time, and authorities say this case remains active.
