Threat made toward Kentucky School for the Deaf unfounded, officials say

FRANKFORT, Ky. – A threat to the Kentucky School for the Deaf was unfounded, according to the Kentucky Department of Education.
According to a statement by the KDE, a threat was made on Facebook against the school.
When the threat was observed, officials say the Danville Police Department and the Kentucky State Police were notified around 2 p.m. Eastern Time Friday, leading to a campus lockdown.
There were no students on campus at this time, according to the statement.
Officials say that lockdown was lifted at 2:40 p.m. following a search on the campus by police, where nothing was discovered.
The KDE additionally states the following:
“Staff at KSD and the Kentucky Department of Education thank the Danville Police Department for their quick response, and we will provide as much assistance as possible to determine who made the threat. The safety of the students and staff in Kentucky’s schools will always be our top priority.”
