Glasgow woman charged with DUI, drug possession following crash

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow woman is charged with driving under the influence after a collision.

According to a uniform citation, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded Thursday to Green Leaf Drive in Glasgow for a single-vehicle collision with injuries.

Upon arrival, officers say an individual stated a vehicle had struck a mailbox, and the driver had left the scene.

Deputies say they observed a destroyed mailbox with an inner fender laying beside it.

Authorities say they went to a nearby residence and spoke to 43-year-old Andrea Bunch of Glasgow, who stated she was the one who had hit the mailbox, along with a basketball goal.

Authorities say they conducted Standard Field Sobriety Testing and a vehicle search.

During this time, authorities say they found 16 hydrocodone pills, three capsules of gabapentin and one pill Bunch claimed was Xanax.

Deputies say no prescription bottles were present.

Bunch was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, third offense, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, driving on a suspended license, first offense, prescription controlled substance not in proper container, first offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (hydrocodone) and third-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified).

Bunch remains at the Barren County Detention Center.
