Suspect arrested after robbery at Puerto Vallarta

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A suspect has been apprehended following an armed robbery at a Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant in Bowling Green.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, officers worked in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Bowling Green Field Office of the Louisville Field Division to identify and apprehend the suspect in connection with the reported robbery that occurred on Aug. 25.

Authorities say BGPD detectives and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia worked to arrest the suspect in Monroe in Walton County, Georgia.

Deputies arrested Jonathan Emmett, who authorities say was in possession of the suspected gun used in the robbery.

Emmett will remain in custody in Georgia pending extradition to Kentucky.

Once Emmett is extradited, he will be charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
