According to a release Friday, Service One matched 100% of donations received from Shred Day participants, making the grand total $2,329.70. In addition, 827 pounds of electronics were recycled.
While the shredding service is free, Service One encourages voluntary donations from participants to benefit a local nonprofit partner each year.
These direct community donations are vital due to offering Kentucky Kids on the Block unrestricted support needed to fund needs, according to the release.
The donations will directly support KOTB’s mission to provide child abuse prevention and personal safety education to children throughout the Bowling Green community, as well as southern Kentucky.
Kentucky Kids on the Block is a nonprofit organization with a unique approach to educating children. By using puppets, KOTB presenters deliver engaging and memorable programs to teach children how to recognize, report and prevent various forms of abuse, bullying and interpersonal violence.
