Burn ban expands to Edmonson County

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – Edmonson County is now on a growing list of burn bans amid dry conditions.
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, an executive order declared an emergency burn ban for all of Edmonson County.
According to the executive order by Edmonson County judge-executive Ronald Scott Lindsey, the ban prohibits all open burning during periods of forest fire hazards or occurrence.
The order states Edmonson County is experiencing a drought.
The exception to the order is campfires at an established campground, officials say.
The ban will remain in effect until this order is rescinded. Additional burn bans in place include Metcalfe and Warren counties in the local area.
