Two arrested following Bowling Green fentanyl bust

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two people are facing charges in connection with a drug bust in Bowling Green.

According to the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force, agents worked with the Kentucky State Police West Interdiction Team to arrest 35-year-old Terrence O. Matthews of Bowling Green and 27-year-old Tamia O. Matthews of Bowling Green.

Authorities say both individuals were arrested following an investigation and surveillance into suspected fentanyl trafficking.

After obtaining a search warrant, authorities say a residence search off of Highland Drive led to the discovery of two handguns, crack cocaine, powder fentanyl, marijuana, 87 Xanax tablets, nine hydrocodone tablets and $1,323 in cash.

The arrests occurred at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to authorities.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.

Terrence Matthews is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (crack cocaine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana.

Tamia Matthews is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (over 28 grams of fentanyl) (firearms enhancement).

This remains an ongoing investigation, and additional charges are expected.
