Monroe County shooting leaves 1 Cave City man dead

TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Cave City man is dead following a shooting incident in Monroe County.

Kentucky State Police responded to a call from Monroe County for assistance with a fatal shooting investigation at 9:30 pm on Monday.

KSP’s preliminary investigation states Scott Eudy, 50, of Cave City, went to a residence on Sugar Creek Road and attempted to enter the home.

KSP says the occupant of the home confronted Eudy and discharged a firearm, striking Eudy.

Eudy was transported to the Monroe County Hospital, where he later died.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe County EMS, and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office assisted KSP.

The investigation is ongoing.
