Elkton man dies in Simpson County crash

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Todd County man is dead following a crash in Simpson County.

Kentucky State Police says it responded to a request from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a fatal collision at the 1200 block of Milliken Chapel Road in Simpson County Sunday morning.

The initial investigation indicates that a Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy was traveling westbound on US 68 and located a vehicle traveling east at a high rate of speed.

The deputy says that while driving on Milliken Chapel Road, the vehicle was discovered off the roadway. The car crashed into a tree.

KSP says the driver of the vehicle, Christopher Barker, 48, of Elkton, was pronounced dead by the Simpson County Coroner at the scene.

The Simpson County Coroner’s Office, Simpson County EMS, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Simpson Fire and Rescue, and other KSP Post 03 personnel assisted at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
