ELKTON, Ky. – The Elkton Police Department is investigating a string of vehicle break-ins.

According to a social media post, EPD says it responded to several complaints about vehicles being broken into on Tuesday morning.

The department says it is aware of approximately 20 vehicles that were unlawfully entered on East Main Street, Washington Street, Perry Street, Streets Avenue, Duke Street, Marion Street, Olive Street, and College Street.

EPD says it is reviewing videos, reports, statements, and speaking with witnesses.

EPD believes a group of juveniles committed the break-ins. No suspects have been identified at this time.

In the post, the department says it will enforce the City of Elkton juvenile curfew ordinance.

The ordinance states that parents can be cited if juveniles are allowed to be active during the hours not permitted by the ordinance.

EPD Captain Jakop Smith says questions and concerns can be emailed to smith@elktonky.com.

The investigation is ongoing.
