Grayson County Sheriff’s Office assists in arrest of man wanted on sex crimes

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the apprehension of a wanted man.
Grayson County sheriff Norm Chaffins says the office assisted the U.S. Marshal’s Office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other task force agencies in the arrest of a man wanted on charges in Louisiana on Wednesday.
Chaffins says Juan Chavez-Trevizo, 45, of Mexico, was staying at a residence on Cave Mill Road in Leitchfield.
Chavez-Trevizo was living in the United States illegally, according to Chaffins.
Chaffins says Chavez-Trevizo was wanted in Louisiana on three counts of rape, 2nd degree, two counts of molestation of a child under 13, four counts of molestation of a child with controlled supervision of the victim and one count of indecent behavior with a child victim under the age of 13.
Chavez-Trevizo is lodged at the Grayson County Detention Center, awaiting extradition.
Chaffins says two other individuals were also arrested at the residence.
“On behalf of the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Grayson County, we are grateful for our federal partners for removing this individual from our streets and stopping him from potentially perpetrating on other child victims. Our partnership with the US Marshal’s Office, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and other federal agencies will continue to strengthen as we focus on removing other criminal illegals, drugs, and local criminals from Grayson County’s streets,” Chaffins says.
The Leitchfield Police Department also assisted in the arrest process.
