Man found guilty of sex crimes in Edmonson, Warren counties
EDMONSON, WARREN COUNTIES, Ky. – A former horseback riding trainer is now facing several decades in prison for sex crimes in Edmonson and Warren counties.
According to Kori Beck Bumgarner, commonwealth’s attorney, 48-year-old Bobby Joe “BJ” Bishop of Rocky Hill has been found guilty of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, victim less than 16, promoting a sexual performance by a minor less than 16, two counts of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities, two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of third-degree sodomy.
Bumgarner says the offenses committed against a minor occurred in both Edmonson and Warren counties.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Bishop had worked as a horseback riding trainer.
Bishop will not be eligible for parole until serving 20 years, according to Bumgarner. Bishop remains at the Warren County Regional Jail.
He is set for sentencing on Oct. 14.
