BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department has officially moved into a brand new joint training facility and fire station on Porter Pike.

Fire officials say this new location is next to its former Station 5.

The old Station 5 building will be torn down in the near future, officials say, but until then, it will be used for training.

The community may notice crews during live training exercises, along with training reminders or markings spray-painted on the building.

The department says this allows it to “sharpen critical skills in a realistic environment, which ultimately enhances our emergency response capabilities.”

The date for the demolition of the Station 5 building has not yet been released. We will provide further details as they become available.
