Kentucky State Police conducts death investigation in Pulaski County

SOMERSET, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police says it is conducting a death investigation in Pulaski County.
According to KSP, on July 20 around 10:48 a.m., troopers were contacted by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance to investigate an in-custody death.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed that on July 18, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshall’s Service attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Brian L. Turner, 47, of Somerset, Kentucky at a home on KY 1676. Prior to apprehension, authorities say Turner ingested a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine. While on scene deputies requested EMS.
Turner was transported from the residence to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on July 19 by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office. It is suspected that drugs may be a contributing factor in this investigation, according to KSP.
Turner was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office on July 21 in Frankfort, where an autopsy was conducted, and toxicology is pending.
