Man charged with rape of minor in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. – A man is charged with the rape of a minor in Daviess County.
According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, detectives were called to assist deputies on Tuesday on a reported juvenile sexual assault that had reportedly occurred at a residence in east Daviess County.
Authorities say it was reported an adult male subject had been engaging in sexual activities the night prior with a female minor.
The suspect was identified as 35-year-old George Baize III.
Authorities say the reporting party confronted Baize, who fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Deputies found Baize a short time later and began questioning.
According to deputies, Baize admitted to having sex with an underage girl.
Baize is charged with third-degree rape, third-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, illegal sex act, victim under 16 years old. He remains at the Daviess County Detention Center.
