Teranga Academy graduate still in ICE custody, attorneys argue for release
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Ernesto Manuel-Andres is still in the custody of Immigration Customs & Enforcement, currently in a Louisiana facility awaiting his hearing.
Attorneys working to bring Ernesto home said via zoom that the situation should have never happened being that he has a protected status, not making him subject to the collateral arrest that happened June 4.
JuanCamilo Parrado and Beata Leja said their client at this current stage in his life, is not legally eligible for permanent residency being that the government only allows so many applicants per year.
Ernesto’s council said they will do their best to argue why he should be released back to Bowling Green once they get in front of a judge.
