Kentucky woman tells dispatch she shot father, police say

PRESTONBURG, Ky. – A 22-year-old woman is charged with shooting and killing her father in Floyd County.
According to the Prestonburg Police Department, dispatch received a 911 call on Monday evening regarding a shooting in the 2300 block of Kentucky 321 in Prestonburg.
Police say the caller, identified as 22-year-old Summer Adkins of Prestonburg, told dispatch she had shot her father, 62-year-old Jimmy Harvey of Presonburg.
Officers and Prestonburg EMS responded to the scene, where Adkins was detained.
Police say Harvey was found in the home sitting in a chair. He was pronounced dead by the Floyd County coroner from multiple gunshot wounds, authorities say.
He was then transported to the Office of the Kentucky Chief Medical Examiner for an examination.
Adkins was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
The case remains under investigation.
