Kelley Paul visits Unbridled Spirit Recovery Ranch to learn more about their mission
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Tucked away in the northern part of Warren County, down Richardsville Road, a ranch is offering second chances to women who have faced tremendous odds.
The Unbridled Spirit Recovery Ranch is taking in women who have suffered from abuse, addiction, trafficking and much more, and turning their lives around, giving them a new sense of love, hope, and purpose. Kelley Paul, wife of Sen. Rand Paul, stopped by on Tuesday to tour the ranch and learn more about its mission.
Paul says it’s about letting people know that help is out there when they’re in their darkest moments.
“I think a lot of it is just letting people know that these options do exist. And there truly are wonderful people in our community who have such a giving spirit and who care and are devoting their entire lives to uplifting women and men who find themselves in and these situations of hopelessness,” Kelley Paul said.
However, while it takes a special person to help those most vulnerable, it takes a community to help those helping others, and Bowling Green and Warren County have shown up for those who need help, providing a safe, warm, and inviting place to regain confidence and get back to a better place.
“It opens doors that are normally slam shut. And when you have people like the Justice Center and alternative sentencing and they come out and you have people like the Salvation Army in the United Way, and they come out and they see and they’re like, wow, this is great. And then they get on board. It’s just like, wow, I’ve never I found out what community was like living here. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know community could be like this. And living here, I’ve found that it really is like this and I love it. I love it,” said founder and executive director of the Unbridled Spirit Recovery Ranch, Lynette Riganto.
Riganto says that she experienced trauma when she was a young woman, and that while learning to love herself, she had an incredible support system that loved her. Riganto says that she wants to replicate that experience and help as many women as she can.
