Man charged with attempted murder after woman shot in Glasgow
GLASGOW, Ky. – One man is behind bars after a reported shooting in Glasgow has left one woman injured.
The Glasgow Police Department says it responded on Tuesday to the 100 block of McGraw Ave. regarding a person who had been shot.
Upon arrival, police say they found a female victim with gunshot wounds to her head and arm.
Authorities say the suspect, identified as 58-year-old Shane Reece of Glasgow, stayed inside of the home for a short time before setting the bedroom on fire.
The Glasgow Fire Department says the fire was quickly brought under control, and a firearm was discovered in the home.
Police say they saw Reece leave out of the back door, where he was taken into custody.
The female victim was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for her injuries and was later taken to the University of Louisville Hospital.
Reece was arrested and charged with attempted murder-domestic violence, first-degree arson, first-degree wanton endangerment (two counts) and torture of a dog or cat.
Reece remains at the Barren County Detention Center.
The arrest was made by officer Jarrett Graber, assisted by the Barren County Sheriff Department, Glasgow Fire Department and the Barren/Metcalfe EMS.
