Hart County residents collecting supplies for tornado relief effort
HORSE CAVE, Ky. – A few days ago, Kentucky was rocked by multiple tornadoes reminiscent of what happened in December of 2021.
Towns like Somerset and London saw devastating damage from some violent tornadoes, destroying homes and killing dozens of residents.
One Hart County group, though, is stepping up, helping those who have been impacted by these tornadoes. The Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop Motorcycle Association is collecting supplies to send east to tornado victims. President of Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, Ashley Vance, says that everyone deserves help after such a traumatic event.
“Everybody deserves that help. Everybody deserves to be treated the same and everybody deserves help when they need it. Just like if we needed help, hopefully those people would step up the same way” Vance said.
Many across western Kentucky are now remembering that night of December 11 and 2021, and can sympathize with those who are now picking up the pieces of their life. Another organizer says to remember just one thing when considering donation.
“What if it’s them? You know, that’s that’s my family. It’s our main thing. What if it’s us? What if it’s our kids? Something happened. You know what? If it’s our parents or you just try to be there for people,” said vice president Byron Logsdon.
You can donate at the Horse Cave Fire Department, Smith’s Hometown Barbershop, and the Dollar General store in Canmer and Munfordville.
