ELKTON, Ky. – An Elkton man is facing multiple charges, including fleeing police.

According to a uniform citation, the Elkton Police Department received a call around 1:16 p.m. Sunday regarding a reported assault.

Police say while speaking with the female victim, she stated 29-year-old Travis Goodin of Elkton grabbed her when she tried to leave her apartment, threw her over a couch and began assaulting her.

Authorities say the victim stated Goodin also took her phone to prevent her from calling for help.

According to police, upon making contact with Goodin and telling him to approach the officer, Goodin ran inside of a residence and locked the door.

Police say Goodin opened the door but did not follow commands, and police attempted to bring him to the ground.

Authorities say he continued to resist arrest until taser deployment.

Goodin was taken into custody and remains at the Todd County Jail.

He faces charges of second-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree unlawful imprisonment, interfering with communications, third-degree fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest.
