Chandler Park Dentistry offers free dental work during Smiles From the Heart event
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Dental work can be very expensive – that’s why one local dentistry office in Bowling Green held a very important event for those who cannot afford dental work.
Chandler Park Dentistry held its 13th annual smiles from the heart event, offering free dental care to those who need it starting early Friday morning going until the late afternoon. Chandler Park Dentistry saw hundreds of patients, helping with with everything from cleanings and extractions to X-rays.
Chandler Park Dentistry says this is a much-needed service for the community, as so many people go without dental insurance and put other family members needs ahead of their own.
“It’s definitely a needed service here, that patients and people are, you know, they tend to put themselves on the back burner or, you know, maybe take care of family members before they do themselves. And dental care is expensive. You know, if they don’t have dental insurance, for whatever reason, they just, you know, haven’t been able to do that. So it’s really been it’s pretty steady every year. Anywhere from two to 300 patients every year,” said Chandler Park Dentistry office manager Kerry Berta.
Between 50 to 60 volunteers helped out, as well with dentists coming all the way from Tennessee to help out in the huge effort to spread smiles to the community.
