Man charged with burglary in Franklin
FRANKLIN, Ky. – One man is facing a burglary charge out of Simpson County.
According to a uniform citation, the Franklin Police Department was dispatched Thursday to the 900 block of West Madison Street regarding a male, identified as 44-year-old Charles Howard.
Police say Howard was unlawfully in a home and locked in a back bedroom.
Police say officers entered the residence and refused to come out of the room. Authorities say Howard fled out of the bedroom window and continued fleeing law enforcement toward Briggs Avenue, where he entered another home.
According to police, that homeowner stated Howard ran through the front door, but they suspected he fled out the back door. Authorities say the homeowner stated Howard had no lawful reason to be there.
Police say they located Howard hiding in the bathroom.
Howard was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary, third-degree fleeing or evading police and second-degree criminal mischief.
He remains at the Simpson County Jail.
