Bowling Green man charged with stalking

BOWILNG GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing charges after authorities say he allegedly followed a woman.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Monday the area of East 12th Avenue and High Street regarding a suspicious person.

Police say the victim stated she had been followed by a male driving a silver car.

Police say the male was identified as 22-year-old Henoch Macias of Bowling Green.

The victim stated Macias offered her a ride, police say, but she declined. The victim further stated Macias had been following her from the Speedway gas station to East 12th Avenue and High Street, authorities say.

According to police, the victim stated Macias asked to get into the car multiple times, but she declined.

Police say the victim further stated Macias parked nearby and stood behind a pole, waiting for her to pass by.

Shortly after she called 911, the citation states the victim stated Macias ran to his car and drove down the street with his headlights off.

While BPGD was speaking with the victim, police say Macias drove westbound on Broadway Avenue at a high speed and struck a curb. Police say they caught up with Macias’ vehicle, and he exited in the First Baptist Church parking lot.

Macias was taken into custody.

Police say Macias smelled of an alcoholic beverage and was unsteady on his feet.

While speaking with officers, police say Macias stated he had consumed two beers and had offered the victim a ride. However, police say Macias stated after the victim declined, he did nothing further.

During a search, police say they located suspected fentanyl, suspected marijuana, a glass pipe and a black scale.

Macias was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green before being transferred to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He faces charges of second-degree stalking, careless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana and first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified).
