Bee Spring woman allegedly shoots husband during domestic incident

BEE SPRING, Ky. – A woman is accused of shooting her husband.

The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 829 Old Kyrock Road in Bee Spring on March 23. Dispatch says the caller said she shot her husband and locked herself in the home.

A man was located outside the home with an apparent gunshot wound.

Authorities say Patty Goins, 61, agreed to speak and provided the location of the firearm suspected in the shooting.

According to a uniform citation, Goins told authorities she shot her husband, Eric Goins, after he turned the television volume up to “annoy her.”

Eric Goins said he exited the home because Patty Goins allegedly threatened to shoot him again.

Authorities say Eric Goins had an entry and exit wound on his right thigh.

Patty Goins was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail. Goins has since been released. She is charged with first-degree assault (domestic violence).

The investigation is ongoing.
