Local organization helping those in addiction recovery awarded $91,000

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – One organization is still celebrating after being awarded over $91,000 to help those in the addiction recovery process.

Origins Story Health helps those suffering from addiction find help and get their lives on a healthier path. The money was awarded from Warren County through the Opioid Abatement Settlement. The Opioid Abatement Settlement money was acquired through a settlement between multiple states, and pharmaceutical companies who produced, advertised and sold opioid medications.

Origins Story Health, who is a small operation, says that money like this will help them tremendously as they try to stay afloat and help everyone who asks for their assistance.

“A lot of things that the statute allocates for or gives us a guideline for how to use the money we are doing every day. And so as a result, I said this is a way that you could really help us kind of get on our feet and stay on our feet and make sure that we continue to offer addiction, specialty and trauma informed mental health care here in the county, really, so we can start growing and offering more of it,” Origins Story Health founder Amanda Havard said.

Havard says that they will never turn anyone who needs help away and that they will continue to serve those in addiction recovery however they can.
