Leitchfield man charged with burglary after allegedly kicking in door
GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. – A Leitchfield man is behind bars after police say he kicked in the back door of an apartment and stole multiple items, including a handgun.
On Thursday, authorities say a Leitchfield man arrived home from work and found 25-year-old Ralph D. Meridith lying on his couch.
The back door of the apartment was kicked in, authorities say.
Meridith, who had a handgun and other weapons belonging to the victim, fled on foot from the apartment, according to officials.
Multiple Leitchfield officers arrived on scene and searched the area but did not find Meridith, police say, although they did recover the items the suspect stole from the residence.
Sunday, LPD says it got information regarding Meridith’s whereabouts. Officers traveled to Bluebird Road in Falls of Rough and found Meridith hiding underneath a mobile home.
He was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
