State police say man shared child sexual abuse materials online

HARLAN COUNTY – State police are investigating a man on charges of child sexual abuse.
Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch says an arrest of Dustin Murphy, 33, was made on March 13.
KSP conducted an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation in Harlan County after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. The suspected equipment used to commit the crimes was seized and is being examined.
Murphy is charged with one count of promoting a minor in a sexual performance (Class-B felony, punishable by ten to twenty years in prison) and one count of sodomy 3rd degree (Class-D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison).
He is lodged at the Harlan County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
