Department of Education changes don’t rattle Edmonson County

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. –  As the federal government continues to shrink, lay offs to the Department of Education might leave some confused but not fearful as of right now.

Edmonson County Superintendent Brian Alexander said “I’m confident the money is still coming” as he spoke on the changes. 10% of funding in Kentucky public schools comes from the department but Alexander said he believes in the leadership at the state level to secure the future of Kentucky public education.

The superintendent said from what he has heard among the education field in the state, no one’s alarmed as to how much money, there’s just some figuring out to do on where it’s going to come from.
