Fugitive arrested on drug possession charges in Monroe Co.

MONROE COUNTY, Ky. – A fugitive from another state has been arrested in Monroe County after police responded to drug complaints.

Monday, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrived at the 1000 block of C Jones Road following multiple drug-related complaints at an address at this location.

After a search of the home, deputies say they found guns, marijuana and meth.

Authorities say they then arrested 58-year-old Michael Dale Austin for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and more.

Austin is also facing additional charges due to being a fugitive from another state, according to deputies.

Austin is currently being lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
