Brownsville-based horseback riding trainer indicted on rape, sodomy charges

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – A Brownsville man has been indicted on several charges, including rape and sodomy.

According to court records, an active warrant of arrest on indictment was served Monday on Bobby J. Bishop Jr., 47, formally charging Bishop with first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor illegal sex act, under 16, third-degree rape and third-degree sodomy.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with News 40 in August 2024 that it was reported Bishop has worked as a horseback riding trainer.

Bishop remains at the Hart County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
