WCPS redistricting three schools

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Warren County has experienced many changes over the years, including an increase in population. This increase is now impacting Warren County Public Schools.

Warren County Public Schools has recently announced that it is redistricting some schools in Warren County. With the construction of the new Warren Elementary School, some students from Warren Elementary, Lost River Elementary and Rockfield Elementary will shift schools.

WCPS recognizes this can put stress on both the students and the parents. One WCPS staff member says the student’s opportunities at school will not change as the staff at these schools will work to provide the kids with everything they’ll need to succeed.

“If you look at any of those three schools, the opportunities each one offers, each are a little bit unique. But if there’s a new club or new opportunity that kid wants to participate in, there’s always a teacher willing to listen to the kid and try to help them bolster that new opportunity and grow it,” said Warren County Public School CFO Chris Mcintyre.

Mcintyre says it is important for parents to also be involved in the process. He encourages parents to reach out to their students principals and set up meetings at a students new school.

WCPS is also looking for feedback as well as the WCPS board is still discussing where the lines will be officially set.
