Bowling Green man charged with attempted kidnapping of adult

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges, including attempted kidnapping.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Wednesday just after 10:30 a.m. to the 2300 block of Tomblinson Way for a disturbance.

Police say upon arrival, they made contact with two women.

According to police, one woman stated she had gotten into an argument with Jayden Johnson, 21, of Bowling Green.

The woman stated Johnson tried to hit her while they were in her vehicle, but she was able to avoid it, police say. The citation states she told police that Johnson threatened to beat her and stated he could kill her.

Police say the woman stated Johnson dropped her off at a Huck’s gas station, where a friend arrived to pick her up.

Police say the woman stated she went with her friend to meet Johnson to attempt to get her keys and phone.

According to police, the woman stated when they met with Johnson, he did not return these items and told her to get into the driver’s seat, eventually attempting to force her into the front passenger seat.

Authorities say Johnson let go of the woman and drove away.

Later, police say they spoke to the victim and to Johnson.

Police say Johnson stated he “did not remember much of the evening” but stated the victim told him to drive to Huck’s for her to get a ride. Police say he stated he did not remember what happened when he met with the victim and her friend.

Johnson was arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

Johnson is charged with kidnapping of an adult (attempt), theft by unlawful taking or disposition auto between $10,000 and $1,000,000, theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others and third-degree terroristic threatening.
