1 dead after boat sinks in Russell County

RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. – One man is dead after a boating accident over the weekend.

On Saturday, the Russell County Search and Rescue responded to a capsized boat incident involving two people.

Details of how the boat capsized remain unclear at this time. One individual was recovered from the water, alert and conscious, while the other was found unconscious.

The unconscious male was administered CPR immediately. Both men were transported to Russell County Hospital for treatment.

Police say the unconscious male later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
