Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Monday, the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Planning Committee of Bowling Green invited the community out to honor the legacy of Dr. King once more.
The committee’s annual MLK event brought out dozens of community members in support of civil rights legend Dr. King by gathering for a prayer-filled breakfast, followed by a symbolic march and church service.
Committee chair Felicia Bland told News 40 that Dr. King’s birthday shouldn’t be just a day off work, but a reminder that there is more to be done for equality.
