Plaza Theatre hosts Hometown Showdown The Sequel

GLASGOW, Ky. – A fan favorite returned to the stage at the Plaza Theatre in Glasgow.

The Hometown Showdown Lip Sync Battle took over downtown Glasgow in a battle to determine who could pretend to sing the best.

There were battles between local schools, businesses and departments in the City of Glasgow and T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

The crowd roared as smack talk was exchanged, and the dancing and singing began, however, only one team took home the gold microphone, and this year’s winner was T.J. Samson’s rehab team.

They credit their win to the people they get to work with every day.

“We’re all family. We may not all live here, but we all work here and we love this community. And all this hard work that we put in for is for the community, for our patients,” said grand champion Alex Love.

“It’s a gift to be able to come and see the people that we see every day, meet them where they’re at, and get to see our why come to us,” fellow grand champion Lizzie Loy said.

The Hometown Showdown was all for a great cause as well, raising tens of thousands of dollars to support those at the T.J. Community Mission Foundation. If that wasn’t great enough, it was announced the Lip Sync Battle will be back for a third year in a row.
