WATCH: Chapel Tinius represents Kentucky, competes for title of Miss America

ORLANDO, Fla. – Miss Kentucky Chapel Tinius competed Sunday night for the title of Miss America.
According to MissKentucky.org, Tinius, a Bowling Green native and granddaughter of two WWII veterans, has heavy local ties, from her home church of First Baptist to being a graduate of Bowling Green High School.
Her accomplishments and passion for the veteran community connects her to multiple initiatives, including Operation gratitude: For the Fallen, which led Tinius to run more than “25 half marathons and three full marathons”, the website says, to raise funds for the Honor Flight Network.

The competition Sunday evening came to a close with Miss Alabama Abbie Stockard winning the title of Miss America.
News 40 would like to extend how proud it is of Miss Kentucky’s representation of both our Commonwealth and Bowling Green.
