Colleagues remember local director Ron Murphy

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Unfortunately long time Bowling Green resident Ron Murphy has died, leaving a legacy and many friends behind.

Murphy was the director of the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, an organization whose mission it is to both preserve and improve downtown Bowling Green for the benefit of the community. Murphy served as the director of the DRA for 7 years.

Long time friend and DRA board member Jim Bullington suggested Murphy take up the director position and the rest is history. Murphy brought back to life the Concerts In The Park series along with Winterfest in the downtown area as well as lead the rehabilitation of 601 State Street.

The late director was given nothing but praise when speaking to a few individuals that knew him well and will be missed.
