KSP investigating infant death in Owsley County

BOONEVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Post 7 is investigating the death of an infant.

KSP says it received a call to a female who was transported to a hospital and reported a possible miscarriage.

At the hospital, the couple of the child said the infant was at their residence on Lewis Lane in Booneville.

KSP responded to the residence and located an unresponsive infant over an embankment on the outside of the residence.

The infant was pronounced deceased by the Owsley County Coroner at the scene.

The body of the infant was transported to the Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort for autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing.
