Man charged with DUI after hitting Russellville police cruiser

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – One man is facing charges after police say he hit a police cruiser in Russellville while under the influence.

According to a release by the Russellville Police Department, officers were at the scene of a single-vehicle collision on Friday around 1:14 a.m. near the Bypass on North Main Street.

Police say during this time, a Gray 2009 Nissan Altima driven by Gaspar Perez-Domingo, 21, struck the back of a Russellville Police Department vehicle.

Police say they determined Perez-Domingo was under the influence at the time of the collision.

Perez-Domingo was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Detention Center.

He faces charges of display or possession of canceled or fictitious operators license, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation, giving an officer false identifying information, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense (aggravated circumstances), no operators-moped license, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, reckless driving and first-degree criminal mischief.

Perez-Domingo is additionally being held on no bond under U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
