Veteran’s Day in Warren County, Congressman Guthrie awards Purple Heart
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – At the American Legion Post 23, Congressman Brett Guthrie addressed veterans in the community and one man was awarded a purple heart on behalf of his now passed father.
Congressman Guthrie gave a speech to those who came to celebrate Veteran’s Day, referencing Joshua and the Jordan River of the Bible. Guthrie said just as God told Joshua to build a memorial, America should do the same from time to time and take a pause to reflect on the sacrifices of others.
Sergeant Jimmy Teasley was honored as well today, receiving a purple heart that was won by his father for his service in the Battle of the Bulge 70 years ago when her suffered severe frost bite on his feet, and continued to serve once healed.
