Kentucky State Police looking for man in connection with murder investigation

WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is searching for a person of interest in relation to a murder investigation in Wayne County.

According to KSP, an arrest warrant is active for Joseph K. Fulton, 43, of Monticello.

Troopers say they received a call from Wayne County 911 requesting investigative assistance Friday regarding a house fire and that the residence owner could be inside on Old Springs Road in Wayne County just after 01 a.m.

According to authorities, an initial investigation revealed the Wayne County Fire Department had located a victim believed to be 64-year-old Mary J. Fulton of Monticello.

Troopers say her son, Joseph Fulton, normally lives with her and was missing from the scene. Authorities say he had reportedly made statements saying he had shot his mother and set the house on fire.

Fulton is described as 6 feet tall and 150 pounds with brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt and blue jeans. Fulton may be driving a 2008 grey or tan Dodge Nitro with a Kentucky plate of BHH801.

Troopers say Fulton is considered armed and dangerous.
